There is growing concern about the observed increase in self-harm among adolescents. The rise in non-suicidal self-injury (NSI) reflects the accumulated distress experienced by children and young people over the past two years, although this behavior was first observed 8-10 years ago. Another worrying aspect is that this behavior is starting at increasingly younger ages.
